As 9/11 approaches, one of my memories of that fateful day (wow, there’s a cliche sentence) was posting on Hissyfit (a long-gone forum which I miss greatly) about this incident in 1945, where a B-52 smashed into the Empire State Building. When I posted it, I still thought a piper cub or some other small, 2-seater plane had crashed into the New York Trade Center. Everyone knows how that day unfolded. Years later, people told me I was the first one who brought them the news that day, on the HF boards.
When I view that video, there are some eerie parallels. Not in a psychic conspiracy theory way, but it shows just how some things will always be the same.
The second clip shows just how Fox News has lost it. They have a report that trees are responsible for global warming. I shit you not. The pseudo-science they use is amazing. I am almost filing Fox News under the same tab as the UK “Sun” and the former “Weekly World News” at this point. Unbelievable. |

*pssst* B-25 bomber. The B-52 didn't enter service until 1955.
*grin*
Did you ever see the X-Files spinoff The Lone Gunmen? The pilot episode featured a plot (pasting the synopsis from IMDB here): The pilot program, which first aired on March 4, 2001, concerned a government plot to crash an airplane into the World Trade Center and make it appear as a terrorist plot in order to justify more defense spending.
How freaky is that???? | |
