Not like “Kramer vs. Kramer,” but simply removing Garfield from his comic strips but leaving John and his speech intact makes Jon seem like a raving loner psychopath.

That's such a morbid cartoon that way. I know John's a loser but without Garfield, I can see there's absolutely no hope. Let's just shoot him and put him out of his misery...

Maybe this is something along the lines of the Calvin and Hobbes/Fight Club connection (some have written papers about it)...Garfield can't possibly be 30 years old! Jon is just clinging to the memory of Garfield, who, no doubt is covering up the fact that Jon murdered his best friend Lyman for a stupid dog.

I love Garfield Minus Garfield, but someone really took it to a new level. They took the whole Garfield Thanksgiving Special... and digitally removed Garfield. It's insane. It's called An Arbuckle Thanksgiving.
