As if the nerd embarrassment of not being able to solve a Rubik's Cube wasn't bad enough, someone is teaching an octopus to do it.
It may be an infuriating puzzle which has baffled and defeated countless children and their parents over more than two decades, but this octopus appears determined to solve the Rubik's Cube. The three-dimensional puzzle, which became a huge success in the early 1980s, is among toys being given to the intelligent sea creatures to determine whether they favour a particular tentacle, or if they are octidextrous.

I thought octopi were colorblind! Oh, well, as long as "[the study] will help the overall wellbeing of octopuses."
Octopus or octopi?
Octopus is third declension in Latin -- plural: octopodes.
It appears acceptable to use "octopuses" as a plural in English.
*blink blink*
yet another situation which makes me wonder HOW people come up with these ideas. But look how great penecillin turned out to be? and somebody came up with the idea that chocolate and peanut butter should be friends. So why not give an octopus a rubik's cube? ytf not?
