... redid wiring? Yes. Yes they did. Some of it was the phone wiring, and then they had 3 phone lines, but not on all the same jacks. So then we moved in, and the Bell Atlantic guy came, and it took him 2 days to fix everything. That was in 2000.
Five years later, apparently this whole clusterfuck of a kludge came crashing down when the Cox people tried to hook up their wiring. From 11:30 to 8:30, five guys in four trucks tried to fix everything. They still couldn't fix it, but I can't say they were slackers or whatnot, because they really worked hard for those nine hours. The score is now I have phone service to one half of the house, but not the other half. Literally, like the east side of the house has no phone service. Luckily, most of the phones are on the west. But they have to come back and fix the wiring for the kitchen and rec room.
But this delayed our packing and whatnot for the con so much, that Christine and CR went without me. Someone had to stay behind, and they had to reach the hotel before 9:00pm to pick up a friend.
So. I am staying home tonight. Miranda's in the guest room. I am in my den, working on Katsucon stuff.
See you at Katsucon... tomorrow :(
