Mine was a tiny company called [I better not post it]. I did publication collating, labeling, bulk sorting, and mailing. I also did light typing work for invoices, database entry, and collection. The company did "the dirty work" of various non-profit organizations. Like say you had a NPO that existed, but didn't want to collect dues, deal with publication distribution of their newsletter, or print up logos. Our company did all that for you for a fee.
I worked there for contract help from age 16 to 19. The money was okay, the work was sporadic, and I was replaced by a guy who would do my work for 1/2 minimum wage. He was part of a county sponsored halfway house program for people leaving the prison system, where the county pays the other half of his wage.
Later, he stole $200 in petty cash and their copier.
