My ulcer, which was pretty standard since about February of last year, hasn't bothered me for a week. I have had this ulcer since I was about 12, when I was first diagnosed as "too young for an ulcer" which got upgraded to "funny, it acts like an ulcer" to "by gum, this is the youngest patient I have seen with stress-enduced gastritis, ever!" And thus began my romance with "that spot in the stomach" which flares up during times of stress. It's like an old relative, whom you don't like, who visits and pokes you in the left side of your stomach for a few days, a week, and sometimes months to a year. Then it goes away for a while, probably to a foreign contry to commit terrorist acts.
I am just fine with a tummy ache.
