Last night, I was up from midnight to 4am with an Mail server failover at work that went badly. This was actually a good thing, because it was a planned failover that we could back out of. Then, earlier this morning, the server we planned to fail over mail to unexpectedly up and died, hardware-wise. We REALLY learned a lot that could have gone wrong, and I am glad we found out now, rather than when we needed the backup to work.
So I am working from home today, which is nice. I got to program a lot of useful scripts for work, which always puts me in a good mood.
One of the great things about our new dining room table is that it's comfortable to work at, so I can be on the laptop and still remain social. My den is so dark and cluttered right now, and I like it up here better. The new chairs are sooooo much better. I get to be with the dogs, cats, and look out the window. I also got a USB-powered fan (Cyberguys was having a closeout sale - $3.99), which I got kind of as a "gee whiz" sort of thing, but it's actually really, really nifty! I use it all the time. Now for a USB-powered Lava Lite, and I'll be all set.
