My son's high school put on a production of "Chicago," which I wanted to see just how close to the movie (yes, I know it was a musical play WAY earlier) it was. I am glad I am not one of these uptight self-titled moralists because I am sure I would have been outraged that a teen girl played a character who faked a pregnancy to get out of prison for shooting her lover during an act of adultery. But, that aside, I was crammed into a seat made for teeny teens and watched probably one of the best amateur productions I have seen in my life. And they played to a packed house.
And my son helped make the set! :) I am so proud...
Yes they hit a few flat notes, there were some minor technical problems, and the band didn't always pick up their cue, but overall the choreography, singing, and acting were top notch for anybody, much less a bunch of teens who have school and personal lives to get on with.
Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes they both, oh yes, they both oh yes, they both reached for the gun, the gun, the gun, the gun, oh yes, they both reached for the gun for the gun.... I sing this song in my head when I watch the "Fair and Balanced" FOX News Channel
This weekend I plan to spend a lot of time writing and doing some housework, although on Saturday, I plan on taking a break and going to Potomac for the Drott Lodge Swedish Bazaar.
I hope to cross over 10k words at the rate I am going, barring any writer's block. I already have two chapters in my head, plus ending the third, so this should be fun. I wish I could tell you what's going to happen, but even I don't know.
