Writing is like sex: first you do it for love, then for friends, then finally for the money

Last night, I worked on my NaNoWriMo Beta edit, and fixed most of my big sticking points. I fixed some stuff that didn't flow too well, added more sub references, tied some subplots together, re-wrote a chapter that got lost (and I took advantage of this and changed some things), and fixed a lot of confusing lost pronouns. Now all that's left is to smooth some things out.

My word count (which was often a few hundred less than the NaNoWriMo counter) is currently at 61,000 words. I don't think a whole lot more is going to be added at this point. Once I finish this draft, I am going to shelve it and start back with Tony Bumper. Barring any mishaps, I may be finished by spring, ready to submit the Tony Bumper thing (the title is "Between the Lines," FWIW) to publishers.
