The last few days have been pretty busy.

Thursday, CR wanted to go to Chuck-ee-Cheeses for his private birthday, which included takyala, anyarm, Chance, and myself. We had fun in the newly rennovated place, which had a kind of "late 1980s" feel to it before, and now is a little more modern. We got Chance hooked on DDR... heh heh heh... one more step towards Katsucon...

Yesterday, I worked a lot and finally hammered out a plan for data center backup redundancy. Then I went out with some people which included my family, Brad, anyarm and others to see "Clerks II." Brad summed it up best when he said, "It's like 'Chasing Amy,' either you get it or you won't." *I* liked it a lot. Usually the "jerk friend" character pisses me off in films, but Randall was just too funny. Not exactly the impact that "Clerks" had, which I saw via copy of a copy over VHS at some con in the mid 90s, but it was worth the donkey scene, which was rather painful to endure, even if it was only implicit. I thought the Jay and Silent Bob scenes were a little weak, but the movie wasn't about them, so that' acceptable. People also thought Dante's acting was weak, but... I have known people like him, and not everyone "acts real" in real life, you know? What others saw in stilted acting came across to me like someone who is so reserved and not confident that he self-checks what comes out of his mouth most of the time, and can't be sincere. But maybe that is his bad acting that matches that look. Eh, I liked David Bowie in "Labyrinth," so there you go.

Today is CR's official party with his teen friends, and they're going to shoot at each other in some Lazer-tag like thing called "Shadowland." Later, we're coming back to the house. I must clean...
