Classics done to Japanese Surf rock

Once in a while, I like to share some bizarre song stuff I find with you all, and apart from Goldfrapp, which you can find on CD anywhere, I recently found the Surf Stylin’s of a 1967 Japanese band while looking for the influence and possible places to buy tracks from the 5678’s.

Introducing the Takeshi Terauchi and the Bunnys, he’s also known sometimes as just T. Terauchi or Terry, as in Terry and the Bluejeans. He has TONS of great instremental records, sort of like the Japanese counterpart to the Ventures, and no doubt influenced by the Ventures. But he also has a definitely recognizable style, and there are influences from traditional Japanese stringed instruments in his playing too. So, the music on this LP is guitar instremental versions of classics from Swan Lake and Fur Elise to “Danube Wave Waltz.”

I am thinking of ironkite and ninjacooter, but anyone who likes 1960s kitch will also find heaven in these twangs.
