When I post something, I recall the old UNIX Usenet newsreader program that asked you, "This program posts news to thousands of machines throughout the entire civilized world. Your message will cost the net hundreds if not thousands of dollars to send everywhere. Please be sure you know what you are doing. Are you absolutely sure that you want to do this? [ny]" And it's true, I got stuff I posted on Usenet from the early 1990s still out there. So when I post, I have to ask, "will I want to be remembered as saying this to everyone?" I have to make that commitment.

On that note, I posted this entry last year. I had enough of Mike Brill and Keith Lynch, and I knew it when I posted it. I was resigned that if they came to me about this post, I didn't care. I was pissed. While Mike has yet to point out my numerous flaws, Keith actually responded back in January.

"I don't think you're being very fair. I don't recall exactly what I said to you about FanTek at Balticon. But the fact is I don't know you very well, and almost the only thing I know about you is that you went to many Fantek cons. For instance asking what panels you were on would have been rude had it turned out you weren't on any."

His letter went on like that; fairly well written and mature. So we had e-mail back and forth, and I think we've settled the matter. He's probably still mad at FanTek for reasons I don't agree with, but he is an individual and entitled to his opinion, and I respect that. It helps that he didn't reply, "WTF d00d??/? YU s4y th4t? fantik suxx0rz!!1!one" But now when we meet at Balticon, we're going to discuss other things besides what Bruce did to him oh so many years ago. I suggested recent books he liked.

I just wanted to point out that he defended himself eloquently, and that's a pretty rare quality among people these days.
