Linux - Pizza Party CLI

This is pretty neat. Some students figured out how to order pizza via the command line.

Basically, you set up a Domino's Quickorder account, and then use the commands like so:

[punkie@pippi]$ pizza_party -pmx 2 medium regular

And that would get me, in that example, two medium regular crust pizzas with pepperoni, mushrooms, and extra-cheese. This is the real deal. Here are the man pages.

Can you imagine this as a cron job? Or better yet, when you have to go onsite, you can have it pre-order them for you, so they arrive sortly after you get there. Like if ($alert_status eq "critical") { system 'pizza_party -whbF 2 large thin'; } somewhere in your perl script. It also opens up an issue with security, a malicious user could do a loop and order pizzas to some hacked account every few hours.

Still, pretty cool. I found this on BoingBoing.net, and wrote about it on Slashdot, which ended up on both Linux.com and Mad Penguin. w00t!
